This church is associated with one of the city’s most fascinating and mysterious historical-religious events. The exact date on which the Sisters of St. Brigid, a saint of Swedish origin and founder of an order bound to the Franciscan rule, arrived in Sanremo is not known.
The church and convent are situated in the heart of Pigna and the sisters obtain assets in the city and in the countryside. The religious order left Sanremo at the end of the 16th century. The church was refurbished and became an oratory run by the St. Brigid confraternity.
